Spot the Difference in our Classic Cover Game

Sep 18, 2009

Play the Threads Classic Cover Game now.

We thought it would be fun to revisit some of our favorite Threads covers and the pages inside for our new spot the difference game. To be a master sewer you need to have an eye for detail. This skill will serve you well as you spot the differences in our classic photos.

Here’s how it works:

We’re challenging you to spot subtle differences between our original image and a doctored version. You get 200 points for each correct find, but you also lose 50 points for every missed click. Can you get a perfect score of 1200 points? We are starting out with 10 photos, but we are hoping to add more challenging photos soon.

The game can be a little tricky (even the Threads editors have had a bit of trouble), but we wanted it to be a little challenging for you. With some determination you can find all of the differences and master the game.

Post a comment below to share your score or offer comments and feedback on the game.

It was fun to have a bit of a break yet still be open to any new sewing inspiration that might appear in the images.

  2. mariteje January 4th

Took a few tries but I got it. I'd love an Ott lite. Wink, wink,...

  3. arkip January 4th

fun game; gets the powers of observation going.

  4. FunkyC123 January 4th

I *Love* this game! My first score was a perfect 1200. Thanks for the entertainment.

  5. province8 November 11th

    Where are the answers?

  6. province8 November 11th

I love the game. I just found the differences on all 15 covers. Is this only for fun or is there a prize somewhere?

  7. Debbsie November 5th

This was fun, fun, fun. I enjoyed it very much and once I started, I had to keep going until I had finished them all. Thanks for providing this great game.

I like the game, but 30 seconds not enough time. Issue 136 shows a difference (buttons on coat) which does not register as such, but subtracts 50 points. The same is true with Issue 144 - "affect you" vs "affect your sewing."

  9. Buttons3435 November 3rd

I LOVE this! Quick and fun when you need a little break! Where are the answers!

  10. tanyacox2 September 24th

It would be great but that is not near enough time to even get your eyes focused. Maybe you could have the time it takes a person to find them and then it compares to previous scores. Where are the details on how to play and how much time you have?

  11. User avater aqn September 23rd

Oh great, like I need another (addictive) way to waste time on the Internet! :)

  12. kassey September 22nd

    straight pin on the right.

  13. cmssew September 22nd

Okay, you win. I read each page carefully, noting articles or ideas I had glossed over earlier, or forgotten. So now I shall return to my library of Threads magazine (the only magazine I never toss, and loan under threat of penalty) and I will re-read the articles, and learn something. This was a clever way to remind us that we usually already have the answers to our questions, if we stop and revalue what we already have, instead of reaching for something new !

  14. User avater gladrags September 22nd

Ah Girls, this is wasting precious stitching time!!

  15. mariteje September 22nd

    Hiding in plain sight! Clever.

  16. e12 September 22nd

The "buttons" cover has a 7th error!

It's in the subhead halfway down the left side of the magazine cover to the left. The last letter of that subhead is partially superimposed by a button, whereas on the cover to the right a white space clearly separates button from subhead.

How about giving an extra bonus point to the lady who found the extra error?!

  17. needlesnbobbins September 22nd

I got all 6 on all the games, BUT, I am not telling how many times I had to try. It was a nice break in the evening! Thanks!

  18. Sewsweet22 September 21st

Thought I was good at this game since it's one of my favorites. Great job Threads.

  19. annh September 21st

I found 4 but that is all I can find. annh

  20. Crazygal September 21st

I love to sew but I love this game even more. I nailed them all six out of six. Bring me more, more, more!!!

  21. Sewing2enjoying September 21st

Darn! I only found 5 again! Try again.

  22. Sewing2enjoying September 21st

I am only sure of four of the differences. More time???

  23. User avater grits222 September 21st

I love this game. Where are the answers ?? five of of six...I need to know where number 6 is located. I could be looking at these all night.

  24. Istich September 19th

If I just had a little bit more time ;) (lol) Great game for trying to spot big AND little details
