This is brilliant, I usually try to steer away from making garments with zips. This tutorial shows makes it look so easy. I think I should get practicing a.s.a.p

This was extremely helpful; I especially love the method used with the steam-a-seam to help with stabilization of the zipper before it goes in the seam. I have very flimsy fabric & this will make it much more easier to install the zipper.
    Good video

Finally! I've been sewing for probably close to 35 years and I've never been able to do a lapped zip till now, so thankyou to Judy and everyone at Threads for such a clear and concise instruction manual on how to install lapped zips!

The only problem I have (and this happens with zips that are not lapped too) is that when I put the facing into the dress I was making, the top edges didn't match up - the left side was about an INCH longer than the right side, despite using steam-a-seam to adhere the zip in the right place before sewing.
What can I do to prevent this happening in future?
    Please help!

All so many years I've had bumps around my sliders. All I needed was a longer zipper to "park" the slider out of the way.
    Genius! Thank you.

Thank you for this video. I am new at sewing and need to go slowly. I am totally obsessed with sewing at the moment and have had a class that I loved. I am hoping to increase my knowledge and skill and with the help of Threads I feel confident I can do it.

Wow! Thank you so much! I've tried so many times to sew on a zipper and they never turned out. You make it seem so easy! Haha. Thank you again and I can't wait to try it out. :)

Judy, your video demonstration was easy to understand and simple to follow. If the entire set follow suit--making sewing a snap, I'd love to have them and would recommend them to all my sewing family and friends. : )

Thank you so much for this video. I recently took a class at the local shop & learned about zippers. This just adds to my information stash. I will practice with the steam-a-seam method as it looks even easier.

These videos are great. I hope they keep coming for us newbie sewers.
