Aug 31, 2010

Victoria North and Judith Neukam

Threads Senior Technical Editor, Judith Neukam demonstrates how to cut out a jacket pattern and follow the guide sheets to start making the jacket components in Make a Jacket: Part 1. Check back next week for Make a Jacket: Part 2 to see how all of the components come together to make a fabulous jacket. You may need to refer back to earlier episodes to brush up on your skills for some of the techniques, but you will also learn some new techniques as we work our way through this final project. Teach Yourself to Sew is for beginning sewers or anyone who wants to brush up on their skills. Judith Neukam is a prime favorite of mine; if she's listed on a DVD or in a video, I'll watch it. This series is so well produced and easy to follow. Congratulations to Threads for making this available. Judi's style is easy to understand, clear, and very practical. I'm an experienced seamstress, but am really enjoying the videos, just for a review of basics. Thanks again. Kay

    Thanks! Kharmin

The timing of this video couldn't have been better for me, I just started sewing my very first jacket and was buffled by some steps! I can't wait to see the rest, thank you so much for putting together this wonderful video!

It is Monday, August 31st, 8:27cdt, the video is not available. 2 ladies watched it a couple of hours ago. I am baffled.

I think this woman is great. I wish she lived in my town so I could take sewing lessons from her. She has inspired me with all of her lessons and I am actually sewing things! Thank you.

What about checking for fit - I notice you don't mention that step.
