user-2390312 The black Alexander McQueen ensemble is in the final 5.

  2. User avater Jennysews2 August 8th

Wow - it's really hard to choose!!

  3. user-2390312 August 8th

The white lace dress is just fabulous!! Have to say I am surprised the black Alexander McQueen inspired ensemble did not make it as one of the final five.

  4. Mirandarose August 8th

I too wondered about some of the questions people posted but right above the comments section there are the links to the full guidelines and rules. Although it is a summer contest, i am basing my vote on the criteria which is making a garment inspired by a designer. There are links to other pictures and the story behind each garment, so that helps.

What an embarrassment of riches! All are fantastic. I have thought about the Mondrian dress before. It got my vote. BTW, typo in your voting listing.

  6. User avater JmTokunaga August 8th

The Mondrian dress is really different. I'd never make it, and I'd never wear it; but I just love it.

I would be interested to know who chose these dresses as the finalists.

  8. Sophia2012 August 7th

These are lovely. It is nice to see when the entries have their creations on a live model; it is difficult to really see the fit unless someone is wearing it.
nonetheless, I think these five are really worthy of the challenge (which was to have been inspired by a designer) and I can tell that all of them fit that criteria!
    Well done!

They all look really good but if you can only pick one that's that

  10. christydesigns August 6th

Stunning, classy and sparkly -- plus I have a weakness for elegant gowns. Love it!

  11. user-125980 August 6th

The dress I choose appealed to me because not only would I enjoy sewing it but I would like wearing it too!

  12. User avater luvstosew August 6th

All entries were worthy of being chosen, but the black sequined gown was simply stunning!

I voted for Black Vinyl Ensemble. All I can say is Wow! I want to be the girl wearing that.

  15. User avater beemmcee August 6th

I chose on the basis of it being a summer contest. Some guidelines would have helped and/or the rules that the contestants had to use.

  16. User avater terricita August 6th

I just picked what I thought was the prettiest dress and also the one that looked like it would be hardest to sew. It would have helped the judging if Threads had included the criteria the finalists were following for the contest.
