McCall’s: Early Fall 2014

Move your wardrobe one step ahead with these great new patterns from McCall’s.

EASY BREEZY SKIRT
McCall’s pattern M6994 is the perfect skirt to wear on the not-so-hot days that will be here before you know it. This easy-to-make skirt comes in four different lengths and two different hem varations. There’s one perfect for every occasion!

Each skirt has an elasticized waistband, hemline variations, and a narrow hem. In views E and F, the wrong side may show on the hemline. Suggested fabrics for these patterns are matte jersey, interlock, jersey, or ponte knits. Notions needed are 1 1/2-yds. of 1 1/4″ elastic.

DRESSED FOR THE OCCASION
Make yourself a beautiful, ruffled dress with 3/4, short, or no sleeves with McCall’s pattern M6987. Pair this dress with cute leggings or tights, and you will have a perfect outfit to wear to a formal occasion or to go out with friends!

This pattern includes a pullover dress with hemline variations and a narrow hem. Both views A and B are loose-fitting with a bias neck binding and the front and back of the dress is gathered into self-lined yokes and ruffles. Separately, view A has a bow tie in the front with shaped, gathered sleeves, and view B has elasticized sleeves. Views C and D are semi-fitted with a self-lined bodice with side-back seams, a raised waist, and a gathered skirt.

These patterns have been designed for light- to medium-weight woven fabrics such as georgette, crepe de chine, challis, or gauze. View A requires 1/4-yd. of 1/4″ elastic and 3/4-yd. of 1/4″ elastic for view B.

THE CLASSIC JACKET
McCall’s pattern M6995 is a very stylized jacket that will dress up any garment in your closet. Wear this nicely fitted jacket for a day at work or a special occasion.

This pattern includes two semi-fitted, lined jackets with pockets and shapped cuffs. On view A, the top stitching forms a band and view B includes a collar.

These patterns have been designed for mediun-weight woven fabrics such as crepes, wool blends, gabardine, or wool crepe. Notions needed for both views A and B are 1/4″ shoulder pads, and for view B three 5/8″ buttons.

A MATCHING SKIRT
Make yourself a matching skirt to go with the previous jacket pattern! McCall’s pattern M6993 will perfectly match with the jacket’s style and class!

This pattern includes two skirts with a raised waist and back zipper. View A is semi-fitted with a lined yoke front and back waistband, a front pleat underlay, button trim, and topstitching. View B is more loose-fitting with princess seams and a self belt.

These patterns were desigend for medium-weight stable knits and woven fabrics such as crepes, wool blends, gabardine, or double knit. Notions needed for both views A and B are a 9″ zipper and a hook and eye. View A requires two 3/4″ buttons and view B needs one 3/4″ to 1″ buckle without a prong.

A COMFY COZY SWEATER
When the weather gets cold, you want to be warm and cozy, so make yourself this cute and comfy sweater from McCall’s pattern M6992!

This pattern includes multiple fitted, pullover tops with neck and sleeve bands, and hemline variations. Views A, B and C have a lower band. Views C and E are cut on the crosswise grain and have overlay varations. Views D, E, and F, all include a shaped hemline where the wrong side may show and a narrow hem. View F needs purchased trim and beads.

Suggessted fabrics for these patterns are medium-weight, moderate-stretch knits such as sweatshirt fleece, sweater knits, double knit, cotton knit, or lace. Notions needed in view F are 1 3/4-yds. of 1″-2″ trim and about 10 studs or beads.
