The peplum top is a sure winner. The princess seams make it easy to adapt to fit the bust. The nipped in waist and volume at the high hip give curves to those without any and hide that extra slice of apple pie for those of us who've indulged. It's a flattering style for all ages.

  2. RushW | | #2

perfect for my 5 foot daughter. I may have to buy this pattern if I don't win it. (8-16)

  3. Robin809 | | #3

I have been wanting to make a peplum top. This would be perfect!

  4. user-3916795 | | #4

The peplum top is very on trend and can easily be done is different fabrics for different occasions. I would sew it (without the collar) in a colorful printed silk to wear with skinny jeans and heels for a night out on the town . I would then make a work version in light gray with white collar to go with cigarette pants and ballet flats. (8-16)

  5. bekabug8 | | #5

I would make the dress first and jacket. I'm petite so this would be perfect

Love this pattern. I think I would make all the garments and have a complete wardrobe to mix and match.

    CKPaz | | #7

The peplum top is definitely a winner; however, I would pick the dress and jacket as my favorite. The skirt of the dress would drape nicely, I think, following the flow of the peplum. I would also make the jacket, which tops off the dress, stylish but simple. Simplicity patterns give great results!

  8. CAS48 | | #8

I like the collared peplum top. It would be flattering for my figure.

  9. Southernpeach35 | | #9

    I love those pants!

  10. sewleslie | | #10

I love the sleeves on the dress and top, though the dress is my favorite. (8-16)

  11. csblum | | #11

I love the top and would make that in both woven and knit fabrics. I think the pattern is very flattering. Looks like it would be easy to fit with the princess seaming. I would need size 8-16.

  12. showdog1719 | | #12

Like others, love the Peplum top but all the styles included are great. These would be fun to make as a mix and match wardrobe. Just think of the fabric possibilities! (8-16)

  13. luloo | | #13

The peplum top of course, I can see this dressed up or down. Such a flattering top for all shapes (8-16)

  14. user-2539792 | | #14

I really like the jacket. I would probably make the jacket and pants to match in a solid color. Then I would make the dress in a coordinating print.

My favorite garment in this selection is the short sleeve, above the knee dress. The flared skirt will hide my large abdomen and will allow me to engineer in the perfect fit with the princess seams in the bodice. This dress also offers many design options of color blocking or adding interesting contrasting fabric prints on the side panels and raglan sleeves. Great pattern to complement my full figured petite body frame. (Size 16-24)

  16. user-3918497 | | #16

Hard to decide between the dress or the jacket! The jacket is classic and can be adapted to many styles, but the dress is so pretty and can also be customized - a great addition to my work wardrobe! think I'll have to go with the dress!

  17. SewMomma | | #17

I can't make up my mind between the peplum blouse and the pants. I like them both. I think they would be a wonderful addition to my winter wardrobe. I already have the fabric in mind to make these. I would need the size 8-16.

  18. SewMomma | | #18

  19. SewSharpe | | #19

I love the top. I have a large bust but small hips and the design should look great. (size 16-24)

  20. uflorme | | #20

The top is adorable. This is a fabulous patterns with many variations. Great pieces to mix and match with. Hope I win so I can start sewing a new wardrobe. 8 - 18

  21. user-3741275 | | #21

Love the dress - especially the raglan sleeves. I like the fit of them better than a fitted sleeve. The shorter version of the dress as a top would work well with a straight skirt. Size 8-16.

  22. LCJsew | | #22

I like just about everything about the blouse. The peplum covers lots of calorie problems. The shoulder treatment looks fun. I also may very well buy it if I do not win it.

  23. pammyvancouver | | #23

LOVE LOVE LOVE the collared peplum blouse, so Audrey Hepburn-ish!

  24. thimblewell | | #24

I appreciate the clean, classic lines of the pants, which I would make and style with the modern peplum top and Chanel-inspired jacket. The bust darts on the jacket, 3/4 sleeves and the overall finished look inspires me to try it instead of other boxier jacket patterns that I've seen. In different fabrics and colors, this can be the base for a solid capsule wardrobe for work.(16-24)

What a nice opportunity to have this chance. I can see myself in all the outfits. Mother and I both do home made items. The jacket is probably my favorite, it is a style for a large age range. I can see mom making family members several of the pictured clothes. Good luck to everyone.

  26. User avater
    tamilyn | | #26

I LOVE the adorable dress! It has a vintage style with a flattering fit, not too full of a skirt for a larger gal like myself. 16 -24 would be the pattern size for me.

  27. ColletteS | | #27

I like the peplum top the best. For those of us who have more curve in the hip area and have difficulty getting tops to fit properly, this top provides the perfect fit. It looks fitted and neat through the body, but provides the ease to fit over our generous curves in a flattering way. It makes for a beautiful, feminine silhouette. Not to leave other body types out; this top will be just as flattering on them. This style makes all women look amazing, and there's nothing wrong with that!!! Jeggings and heels here we come!!! :P

  28. user-974858 | | #28

I love the jacket with the dress or pants. So very me. Would love to win it!! Size 8-16

  29. Arctic_Phoenix99 | | #29

I love all of them but my favorite is the shirt. I've been looking for something that my older sister would like and I know that she would love the shirt and Jacket combo. size 8-16

  30. Lady_D | | #30

I love the look of this dress. The style is appropriate for all ages, yet conservative enough to suit this older lady...
Size 16-24 could be made to fit me. I'm a little bit taller than most petites, but not nearly tall enough to say I'm average, so I have a hard time buying clothes to fit. Making my own garments seems to be the answer to the fit problem.

  31. quiltingfinn | | #31

I really liked Simplicity 1699. Major problem, no sizes to fit my women's 28 size. Why are there no any fashionable dresses, skirts in womens sizes. I am not fond of sacks and all elastic waists. I have searched in vain for a fit and flare pattern.

    gastoud | | #32

I remember my grandmother making attire like this. I'm taken back 20 year's. I am 16-24.

  33. stillSTH | | #33

I'm liking the dress; looks very versatile, depending on what fabric you use. (16-24)

  34. Mayell | | #34

I love the classic "chanel" style jacket. I have also been wanting to make a peplum top. Size 16-24. Thanks!

  35. parsnip65 | | #35

Love them all ........but the jacket is such a classic and so quick and easy to make. Also can be made to look many different ways! ( 16-24 )

  36. user-3186175 | | #36

I love the jacket, it is simple, yet elegant. A blank template for embellishment...or not. I would the jacket with the pants. (16-24)

  37. SKPeek | | #37

The "Channel" jacket & pants. I don't wear dresses much, and have never been able to get fitted dresses to look as well on me as they should. I'm kind of a "pear", so fitted waistlines & shorter skirts tend to make me - and other pears, IMHO - look dumpy. But the jacket & pants are classy and simple enough to do wonderful things with fabric mixes, appliques, top-stitching, trims, and other very individual approaches. I'd love to have the pattern in sizes 16-24.

  38. Dawnalice | | #38

I love that jacket! It will very versatile, dress it up or down. size 16 to 24

  39. 6granny | | #39

Love, love, love the peplum blouse. It will cover my hip area. Size 16-24 please. Do you have women's sizes for us older, thicker bodies?

  40. Dawnalice | | #40

I love that jacket! It will very versatile, dress it up or down. size 16 to 24

  41. SueMurphy | | #41

I love the peplum top. It's a very flattering style and very versatile. Would be beautiful in a light weight silk for evening wear. (Size 8-16)

  42. NGuy | | #42

    Love the short sleeved dress!

  43. SewMuchToy | | #43

I love the collared peplum blouse. Tops always give you sew much versatility. You can match them up with leggings, pants, skirts or some really short shorts ( My legs are my best asset) lol... im a size 8!

I like the dress because it's simple and can be fancied-up if desired. I work full-time, and I have two kids at home. I don't have time to make something that's too event-specific. If I don't win, I'm definitely buying this pattern!

I love the dress! Having princess seams and raglan sleeves is a great idea - it gives us a lot of room for adjustment as well as creativity. (8 - 16)

  48. g_fox | | #48

The jacket appeals most to me. I would like to sew it in a sanded silk with bead embellishments for an evening at the opera theater. Then again it would be a simple enough design to use the 3/8 inch hexagons I have been piecing for use on a very unique garment. Size 8-16.

  49. tzipi | | #49

hi i really love all of these patterns but my favorite is the shirtsleeve knee length dress. I would make it and lengthen the sleeves for winter. I don't wear pants so this is my favorite. im size 8/16. I hope i win!!! thank you!

  50. dixdizzy | | #50

I think the dress is wonderfully classic. I would want a size 16-24. Thank you .

  51. Katywho | | #51

I love the peplin top. I stand at work so always wear comfortable shoes which for me works with dress pants and a figure loving top. Hope I win

  52. libbyprd | | #52

I would love to make the jacket and add some special trim. I even have the fabric I would use already!

  53. marijkapaprika | | #53

I'm hot-natured and live a very casual lifestyle, so I love the peplum top! I'd dye and bead heavy cotton jersey, then wear it with jeans and cowboy boots. What a pretty alternative to a basic tee, and perfect for wearing out!

  54. Peg058 | | #54

the top and the jacket are great looks. I would make this in several fabrics. Size 8- 16.

  55. MelHill | | #55

I love the dress so versatile I can think of many many ways to make it using different embellishments or fabric types. It would be a joy to enhance my fall wardrobe with this collection of patterns in size 8-16. I have never purchased or used a petite pattern so it would be great to have a pattern tailored to my petite fit!

  56. sewsam | | #56

Oh, I can think of lots of fabric to use with pattern.

Good luck everyone. I won this pattern giveaway once and never received the pattern despite sending my address twice! <:~(

  59. connielk | | #59

I think the strength of this pattern is the mix and match possibilities. That jacket would go with just about any outfit. Love all the pieces, but the jacket is best.

  60. kroae | | #60

Love the peplum blouse. The possibilities are endless and endless is one of my favorite things.

  61. ejanieb | | #61

The pants and top with the jacket would be my favorite. Being retired, I rarely wear a dress anymore. Size 8 - 16

  62. AliceEliza | | #62

My favorite is the dress because it looks cute and comfortable, but I would probably make the pants first since I wear those more often. I would like size 8-16.

  63. pssews | | #63

I would love to sew the peplum top. I am so glad it is back in fashion! Paired with the pants, it would be a timely outfit. Size 8-16

  64. sewseitz | | #64

I love the blouse with long sleeves on the model. I need 8-16 petite pattern.
    Thank you for the contest.

  65. sewmuchlove | | #65

This is a wonderful project for the weather now, and it fits my sewing level. Can't wait to start !

  66. LindamMMMM | | #66

I used to have a jacket like that - I would love to make another, but then of course, I would need the dress to go with it. Size 8-16.

  67. user-3088787 | | #67

Would like to make this for my granddaughter who works in an office.(16 to 24 please)

  68. AnniePC | | #68

My daughter just got a new job and asked if I would make her some work clothes. This would be a perfect pattern for her - all four pieces. My favorite (for me as we're in the same size range) is the jacket. (size 8-16)

  69. cweetgal | | #69

I love the blouse because I always wanted to try out such a pattern with short raglaan sleeves made of lace and bodice form satin :) Size 8-16 would suit me. Thanks

  70. SeedzMeanFruitz | | #70

I love the dress, but would benefit most from a well-fitting pair of pants. Size 16 ready to wear, so much larger in patterns!

  71. J2B | | #71

The little top is my favourite piece. I just love peplums. They totally diminish the size of my hips. I fit into the 8-16 range.
    Thanks

  72. corryv | | #72

The peplum top is stylish and cute and looks great with the pants.
    Size 16-24

  73. ludvik | | #73

    Love the dress. Size (16-24)

  74. Wencer | | #74

I favor the short, straight jacket. More than 20 years ago I bought an extremely expensive length of printed faux leather. I meant to make a jacket, but right then, all the patterns had extended shoulders and wide lapels. I just couldn't make my gorgeous (red with subtle black print) fabric fit the patterns. I've kept that fabric carefully rolled to prevent creases for 20 years while I have been looking for a straight, plain jacket to work up that gorgeous fabric -- perfect with a straight black skirt or over a straight little black dress. Yes, I'd probably buy this pattern anyway, but I just want to thank you for possibly making my dream jacket come true. I would most likely make the jacket in a size 18.

  75. user-2541019 | | #75

Such a pretty peplum top, if I Could sew it I would not stop
Size 8-16 would fit me well, dressed in these outfits I would look so swell
I agree with user 5151 if I don't win I would have to buy this one.
Thank you for this great contest would love to win the top and all the rest

I sure love the peplum top! It's a very popular top now and then. I would love to make one. (16-24)

  77. nancygtk | | #77

My favorite piece is the top; first, because a peplum flatters my figure; second, I love how the peplum, princess lines, and raglan sleeves "play" together. It's a fun top! I require size 8-16.

  78. avasgrndma | | #78

I love the dress in size 8 - 16 please! I am 5'1" and a new sewist looking for patterns that are appropriate and this pattern definetely is a great collection for my size. I also really like the pants and the top. I think I may buy this pattern if I don't win as everything is so cute.

  79. user-1151614 | | #79

    I love the jacket..especially the 3/4sleeves ;-) Perfect for our weather (8-16)

  80. Sa2curtis | | #80

I love all the pattern options, but would probably make the jacket first!

  81. Sa2curtis | | #81

I love all the pattern options, but would probably make the jacket first!

  82. OMeg | | #82

This is a wonderful pattern. I would make the top first, raglan sleeves and princess seams are two of my favorite construction details. 8-16

  83. bennyborg | | #83

I'd make the jacket and pants. Size 8-16

    Thanks

  84. dianemayotte | | #84

I love the stlye lines on the dress. The rest of the pattern pieces are wonderful are also awesome!

I require size 16-24 and petite is great for me!

  85. user-907184 | | #85

I love the dress. It is simple, yet flattering for most figures. I would make it in size 8-16.

  86. ejanvrin | | #86

The top is my favorite. It looks very comfortable and the collar is very sweet. All the pieces are nice though. I would make them all in size 8-16.

  87. user-660773 | | #87

Extremely versatile pattern which could be made into a selection of coordinating garments for any season and any age group.

I like the jacket most because it is a nice simple style and so would be more simple and therefore quicker to make that a more tailored jacket.

Simplicity patterns always produce great versatile designs.
The fact that I am a petite size would just be a bonus if I won.

  88. machinemaven | | #88

I like the classic look of the jacket; I like the contrast with the flirty lines of the dress. I'd use the 16-24 pattern.

  89. user-3922662 | | #89

The dress, always the dress! I'm in the 8-16 category, but frankly, I can use the Threads article for Pattern Grading (that faithfully makes those vintage '60s dress patterns I score on Etsy fit me), so, either size would rock! Thanks!

  90. DianaLouise | | #90

What a great pattern! Thanks floor the giveaway!

This looks like a really versatile pattern I like the simple jacket and I could probably wear the dress, too. Princess seams are preferred for fitting. Size 16-24.

looks like a good all around pattern. 16-24 petite. hard to find good clothes for plump older women

  98. celiacgirlri | | #98

It's a toss-up between the dress and the shirt. I love the peplum on the shirt, but I adore wearing dresses and the princess seams make it fit even though I'm a curvy little shortie. I'd be in the size 8-16 range. Thanks for such a fun contest!

The collarless jacket would be the first garment I would make from this pattern, tho I have to admit the peplum top is a close second. I have been planning a Chanel-type jacket for awhile now, and this pattern would work great! (size 8-16)

  100. rosewally | | #100

I would love this pattern because it is timeless. It would be great to make a mix and match wardrobe.
I like the dress pattern, it has sleeves that would hide my angel wings. It will be great for a winter collection.

If I had to choose, a very difficult choice as they are all beautiful, would be the dress. It is so cute but at my age I could still wear it with the right fabric. I am 5'1" thus a small petite and again all the pieces would look great! I might just go and buy it anyway.

  126. birdsews | | #126

I love the dress and the top, but I think I would have the most use out of the top. Cute and flattering!

  127. Lsax | | #127

The dress with the jacket is so cute. I like all the pieces but would start with the dress. I am a dress fanatic because I think they are great at hiding my flaws. (16-24)

  128. karynfell | | #128

i would love to have a peplum top, all of the pieces are so cute

  129. Charisse | | #129

I like the dress. Dresses are so feminine right now.

  130. luckysue | | #130

I think I like the dress best as there are many ways that I think it can be adapted.
Size 8 - 16 if I am lucky enough to win.

I love the dress. The princess seams not only give the illusion of a smaller waist but allow for using a color blocking technique. I also appreciate a dress with sleeves. I'm a size 8-16. Thanks

  132. Fadanista | | #132

I am a peplum girl because I find I acquire a waist and it gives a flattering silhouette, but would make all of these items in a heartbeat. What a great pattern!

All the pieces are lovely but my favorite -- like almost everyone else -- would be the dress. It has simple, classic lines, and the princess seams in the bodice are very flattering. I'm at the age when I don't want my upper arms exposed by sleeveless dresses, so the cap sleeves would suit me well; and the neckline is not too wide for a petite frame with narrow shoulders, which is a problem with many patterns. I'm a size 8-16.

  136. scissorlover | | #136

I love the dress pattern, I think it would be a flattering design for me. My size is 8-16. I love Threads magazine.

  137. rhugs | | #137

I particularly love the jacket. Since losing weight, my arms have become like "tuckshop arms" - waving in the breeze and I need to cover them up. This means no more no and short sleeves for this gal. But .... I do love all of the patterns too!

  138. AussieAnnie | | #138

The dress is very girly. My size is 16-24

I would make the collarless jacket with three-quarter length sleeves. I love jackets! I would need the 16-24 petite size.

  140. mairzydoats | | #140

I'm loving the jacket and the 3/4 length sleeves work great in our fall weather . Size 16-24

  141. maggsc | | #141

Petite I'm so very excited to see that word. Thank you

  142. maggsc | | #142

Oops I was so excited to see the word petite I forgot to say which pattern I like the best....of course it's the pants!

  143. SEGnesa | | #143

GREAT pants and jacket. Any top would go well under, including a ruffled front.

  144. user-3982669 | | #144

The peplum top is my favorite. This shape actually 'hides' some of my many curves and is now one of my favorites. This pattern would allow me to make the style rather than just buy these tops. Size 16-24 please.

  145. Theresainmerida | | #145

Pick me! Please pick me! I love princess seams, they are so flattering. This would be a great pattern to expand my wardrobe. I'd like the size 8-16 size range.

    regards,
    Theresa

  146. Helen_1949 | | #146

wow, that is too cute! It would be impossible to say which I'd make first--I love the dress and jacket especially, but the pants are also right up there with winter coming on. This looks like a pattern that's easily adaptable to figure alterations and for any age--even this senior!

  147. Lawana55 | | #147

    Peplum blouse. 8-16

  148. annmoskal | | #148

I love the peplum top, the princess shaping is very feminine and flattering. I have just the fabric to make it. It is a pretty soft linen print....just in time for a trip south from cold Canada. I do hope that I win the pattern in time to sew it. [email protected]

  149. user-2562294 | | #149

Yes I would want a size 16-24 pattern. I would start off making the collared peplum blouse, then the pants and finishing off the look with that marvelous jacket. That dress has a somewhat vintage look to it I might have fun with it later on.

  150. lvislief | | #150

I would probably make the jacket first. It looks pretty simple but actually has a dart, so could be made to fit with a little adjustment. Size 16-24 please.

  151. finchmama | | #151

simplicity sew stylish 1699 petite 8-16. collarless jacket with 3/4 sleeves looks perfect to pull together jeans or something more formal. I love it. This is on my radar to add a classic piece to my wardrobe!

  152. avasgrndma | | #152

size 8-16 for 5' 1.5" me! I am learning to sew and love the dress and jacket. I have looked for this pattern online and it is back ordered many site but I do love it.

  153. YElektra | | #153

I would love to sew this timelessly elegant pant in a colour just as stunning as in the image. I'd take a size 8-16 if I was lucky enough to win.

I love the dress. My figure looks best in princess seam. I'd love your book to expand my knowledge on fitting. Due to health issues in my 20's with early onset menopause, precancerous condition that led to hysterectomy at 27 and thyroid cancer in my 50's--I have spent a lifetime gaining and losing significant amounts of weight. Thank God that I learned to sew when I was 10 (my grandmother was a wizzardess) and learned how to measure and fit. My biggest fit issues are not knowing what size to purchase to minimize alterations, my top not being the same size as the bottom and the constantly changing size of my body. If I am the fortunate winner of this prize, I would like size 16-24.

The top is my favorite with the beautiful sleeve style and the set in waistline. It has charm and comfort for everyday wear with jeans that will show off my curves! Of course, easily turned into evening wear as well.
    :-)

    (Size 8-16)

  157. cbaglien | | #157

I love a pattern with so many options. I would make any of these but would probably make the dress first. It is a wonderful timeless cut. Thank you for the opportunity to win this.

I love the look of all the pieces, but especially the peplum blouse. The princess style seams make me look a little less heavy in the bustline, and the nipped in waist makes me look a little smaller in the waist. The peplum sets over the hips just right to cover a slight tummy area. The over-all look is fashionable while making me look slimmer -- a winner in my fashion closet any day.

  159. bournegirl | | #159

I like the adaptability of the jacket. I have two fabrics in my "stash" that will be just right with the shape of the jacket; some nice dark denim that would look great with some lace over the front. Or maybe I'll finally be able to have my pinwale corduroy jacket. I love to use trims, so would probably put some cord along the front open edge. If I am fortunate enough to win, I would like the size 8-16. (I confess, the pants are my second faves; they look stylish AND comfortable, and would be able to complete them on a weekend afternoon! MY kind of pattern!)

  160. Atelier_Alma | | #160

Would love to make a dress in size 8-16. I find this shape would fit me perfectly.

  161. user-9056 | | #161

I would make the jacket in a few different fabrics with different embellishments. It would work in so many different ways. Size 16 -24, please.

I love the top and would definitely be making it at least two or three times. Depending upon the fabric I use, this top can be dressed up or down. I can see me wearing this to made of red knit with silver thread woven in to a holiday party and one made of a jersey knit with a pair of jeans for a day of shopping or with some dress slacks for an evening out on the town. My size is 8-16.

  163. fordrun | | #163

I love the collared peplum blouse. Retro made up to date!

  164. user-4042227 | | #164

My fav is the peplum blouse. I can already see it being made with some awesome piping down the princess seam lines. A cute top to wear with just about anything and so fun to make!! (8-16)

I am a size 12 14. I just really like the classic lines of the blouse and dress. The dress is so very feminine, one to make and wear on a day you need to feel extra pretty. In fact this is a combination of some of my favourite styles.

  166. user-614352 | | #166

I LOVE patterns with multiple garments. I would love to have an outfit of the pants, jacket and top. Of course the dress is great also!!! I'm in my early 60's so had peplum top patterns but wouldn't fit in those any longer... :)

  167. kellysews | | #167

I really love the dress. It has a retro feel and classic lines and with the princess seams there is so much potential. I would need the 16-24 size.

  168. kmm207 | | #168

The classic jacket and pants are my favorite - they can be worn when traveling, to work or just out for the day depending on fabric color and style. Size 8-16!
