I’ve always loved the ascot outfits from My Fair Lady and I’ve always wanted to see how large of a hat I could create and wear.  I went pretty quickly to the idea of flowers and death.  How to do death and still be pretty?  That is where the skulls and roses came in.  The decision to use roses as the primary flower came about because of my rose brocade wedding dress from my first marriage.  I had held onto the dress for many years because I loved it even though the marriage had not survived.  So in a way this outfit represents the death of my marriage.

Materials:  Satin brocade wedding dress, flocked chiffons, Halloween decorations, straw hat, hundreds of silk flowers, velvet, ribbon, hand-painted lace appliqués from my wedding dress, braid and faux pearls.
