Tea Time Rose Pink Floral Toddler Dress - One of a Kind
comments (4) November 5th, 2009 in sewing, design, garment construction, fabric, reader's closetThis darling little dress starts with this gorgeous designer fabric .... a creamy back ground is sprinkled with the most beautiful rose print in shades of scrumptious pinks and sage green leaves. The wide shoulder straps have been shirred and the edges done in a finishing stitch. The top of the dress has also been shirred. I've added a double rose flower at the neckline that is removable for embellishment. The hemline was all hand stitched. This is so beautiful and I tried so hard to show its beauty in the photo's, but it is so much prettier than it shows. We also have a darling Tea Jacket that coordinates beautifully with this dress that was made using this same fabric and a vintage pillowcase. It’s a real beauty. (Jacket is sold separately.) When the jacket is worn with this dress, the little rose flower peeks through just below the buttons on the front of the jacket. It's so cute! You will just love this on your little one or, this would be a beautiful gift for some special little girl.

My grandmother came from the era of heirloom and fine french laces and let me tell you she had a weakness for beautiful lingerie and fine Swiss linen hankies.
She embroidered like an angel. I wish i still had my layette so you could enjoy the heavenly embroidery, the tee tiny mother of pearl buttons and button holes.
BTW I am 58 :-D
