King of the Wild Things
November 6th, 2009 in reader's closetI've always loved Maurice Sendak's book, Where the Wild Thing Are, so when the movie came out this fall I thought this would be the perfect costume for my little wild thing. I used a pattern for the basic one piece suit and then added a hood with ears and a tail. I knitted a little crown to complete the outfit so he could indeed be King of the Wild Things.
I was really pleased with how it turned out, especially since it fit him perfectly and it was the first time I made his halloween costume or a garment that was this involved. I think it is pretty obvious from the photos that he enjoyed his costume too.
