Bits the Patchwork Fairy
November 7th, 2009 in reader's closetMy two-year-old daughter's fairy costume, made for both Halloween and the Texas Renaissance Festival. Her chemise is made from an old blouse of mine, her crazy patchwork dress is made from scraps of fabric, ribbon, and lace from several other sewing projects. Her wings are made out of two wire ooat hangers held together with duct tape and covered in sparkly fuzzy yarn, with a silk flower in the middle. Her wreath is made from two silk floral stems twisted together and wound with ribbon. With the exception of the floral stems, all the materials in this costume are recycled.
