Little Princess on the Beach
comments (0) January 4th, 2010 in sewing, garment construction, fabric, fitting, reader's closetI made this little flower girl dress for my granddaughter to wear at a tropical beach wedding. I started with Butterick 3351, but made some modifications. I opted not to make an overskirt or belt coming from side seams. Instead, I used a lovely embroidered eyelet and lined the complete dress with a cotton broadcloth to add body and provide some privacy. I also made a removable sash to add a little style and to make it more comfortable to play in later on in the day. My granddaughter loved this and felt beautiful. Of course, we all thought she looked beautiful, too!
