This garment is pearl grey Moire Taffeta with grey Satin bands and trim, with lace sleeve insets and collar and was made for a Civil War Era Re-enactment Ball.  The fitted jacket features Satin bands of trim, hand-made closures and covered buttons.  The three tiers of the skirt have 4" and 2" Satin bands, and of course a hoop slip.  This garment was made using a McCalls Pattern of Historical Garments.

I haven't decided what my 'gown' will be yet. Having trouble finding the perfect 'period correct' fabric for the gown for under $40/yd. Did you use silk taffeta and silk satin, or did you use synthetic?
