Civil War Era Ball Gown
comments (3) December 21st, 2009 in garment construction, embellishments, fitting, fundamentals, reader's closetThis garment is pearl grey Moire Taffeta with grey Satin bands and trim, with lace sleeve insets and collar and was made for a Civil War Era Re-enactment Ball. The fitted jacket features Satin bands of trim, hand-made closures and covered buttons. The three tiers of the skirt have 4" and 2" Satin bands, and of course a hoop slip. This garment was made using a McCalls Pattern of Historical Garments.
