Project Runway Returns

One of these designers will be the next winner of Project Runway.

Project Runway returns for a 7th season tomorrow at 10pm on Lifetime. This season the competition returns to New York City where it belongs. Judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors are returning full-time as well with the move back to the East Coast. We will also meet 16 new contestants tomorrow, including one that we will certainly be rooting for, Threads author and Pratt alumna Pamela Ptak.

New York City welcomed Project Runway home this morning when Fashion Avenue was temporarily renamed Project Runway Avenue by city officials. Former designers including Sweet P Vaughn and last season’s winner Irina Shabayeva were on hand with Heidi, Tim, Michael and Nina to celebrate. Look for a project by Sweet P in our next issue of SewStylish available this spring.

Tomorrow night we will be watching and cheering on one of our own. Will you be watching this season?

The first episode, was better than all of the last season's shows in my opinion. Looks like they're back where they belong! Yeah.

I thought the first episode was great, and I was pleased with the winner of the challenge. Also, Ping Wu will be great entertainment for as long as she lasts.

Last season was lackluster and actually quite boring to watch. Having said that, I would have to say that I really like the entertainment factor that a diverse group of people provides for the TV viewer. The Road to the Runway was fun to watch. The TV viewer was a part of the selection process, and they didn't seem to hand pick more "seasoned" people like they do now. Also I think the age range is kind of gone too. I think the field is more homogenized, not as much drama, not as much fun, more serious. Keep Mr. Hot-lanta and Ping and the girl who cried (she pulled a really cute outfit out at the last minute--hooray for her).

Loved the first episode, looks like lots of talent according to all those photographs they showed. I just LOVE Ping, she's a living doll! I also loved the way her outfit moved on the runway, it was different and maybe not all of it in a good way, still, it was interesting. I'm happy with who won and oddly, I think the loser was an appropriate choice but a surprise in the end. In the beginning of the show, she was telling about all the awards she had won and I thought, oh my, these people are going to be blown out of the water by this woman, it will be a bloodbath! Then, she's the first to go, who knew?
I did like the outfit from the guy who looked like a circus ringmaster the day of the runway show, but the red zipper was overkill for me, still, it was cute.
I have to say, I see much more talent this year than last, these folks all look like they could have beaten any one of the contestants from last year. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and can't wait to see what these designers pull off!

Project Runway is one of my favourite programmes on Sky tv in UK, so I would like to know when the new series will be shown in Europe. I am a quilter and love to create new designs but it is one thing to design a flat piece of quilting or applique and another to designing some of the wonderful creations these young talented people make. I look forward so much to seeing the new series.

I love the show both in US and Canada. I just wonder how we can apply for Project Runway Show. Is there anybody knows how?
