Claire's raincoat was made with a two sided, rubberized raincoat fabric.  The stripe is actually the reverse side to the red, so there is no lining.  I did use two layers for the collar and lapels, so that the edges would be finished -- managing the side that needed to show for each application.  I used the double needle for perfect double rows of top stitching.

Not too much to make it busy – just enough detail to make it unique – striking & beautifully executed. I do have a question regarding the rain proffing fabric -- with all the detail and stiching does it keep out the rain?
