Bernina V6 contest
After purchasing a red dress trimmed in fur for my 18 month old grandaughter, I decided her 7 years old sister needed something to match. I used a stretch velour in a vibrant red and used pattern #4385 from Butterick. This was a great project to test out my new Bernina 730 and a walking foot. It went together beautifully with the walking foot. After basic construction and lining I cut strips of fur and bound around the jacket front and sleeves.Working with fur can be tricky but if you use scissors and trim the pile off the seam allowance before stitching you elilminate shifting and a lot of bulk. The pattern came with the band on the front of the dress. My only wish was for more time after construction to put embroidered snowflakes on it.
