Valentine Vests for Grandson and Mumsie
comments (1) February 9th, 2010 in sewing, design, fabric, embellishments, reader's closetThese wool vests were refashioned from an oversized wool ski sweater, felted in my washer and drier;pattern pieces were then cut and sewn. My grandson's vest came from the original sweater sleeves on the front of which I needle-felted two hearts with wool from the sweater clippings; the vest neck and arm holes were bound with cotton strips cut on cross-wise grain from a red T-shirt. Mumsie's vest features the original front and back of sweater, turtleneck cut into a cowl, and handmade rose flower. Great re-fashion projects for two special Valentines!
