Simply a Winner
When my daughter was getting married we came across this chocolate and hot pink glen plaid suit material. She immediately knew this would be a dress she needed come fall. She was to wear it to her rehearsal dinner. When I came across the Simplicity contest I knew this would be a great time to enter my first contest. I used Simplicity pattern 2996 from the Threads collection. I took the waist off and made it an open front coat dress. The collar and cuffs are hot pink silk dupioni with multiple rows of stitching. Those were done on my Bernina 630.I then found some organza leopard ribbon and gathered it, and inserted it around the collar and cuffs. The china silk lining was embroidered with her initial in it and a design from mu OESD design collection. Needless to say, the dress was in New York when it was time for her wedding but she forgave me when I won first place in the dress division.
