Team Spirit

Swat team spirit

To show team spirit for the MSU basketball team, my son got me to help. The star player is nicknamed “Swat”. So, we developed a vest for a group to wear.  Making these on a shoestring budget, I purchased cheap black vinyl, and some quilted fleece.  I cut out the vest (my own pattern) usng the vinyl. It did not need edged or lined. I then used velcro closures on the sides. That way they can expand or be tightened around the waist. I designed a couple large front pockets out of the quilted fleece that actually close with snaps and can hold a cell phone or whatever.  I then designed channels of material to simulate bullet holders.  We used my Brother PR620 and made lettering which was glued on to say SWAT. My son then ordered plastic helmets and went to the game to show his spirit. There is a team of four rooting for their guy every game.Yesterday, he sent me a picture of the coach trying one on. Go MSU.
