I made this dress a few years ago for the lovely young sister of my daughter-in-law. I feel it is an appropriate entry into your red dress contest.
The gown was designed to be strapless, but the young wearer’s modesty dictated at least one strap. My solution was to disassemble silk roses and then attach the silk petals onto a narrow strip of chiffon. I then attached this as the strap. I also put a cluster of petals at the spot where I attached a ribbon loop for lifting the train. Where the lining is tacked to the dress, on the inside of the train, I also attached a flutter of petals.
We all loved the way the dress turned out. As the original wearer was unavailable at this time, I drafted my young neighbor to pose for the pictures.
Beautiful. Drapes heavenly.
