Spring Color Contest

Ruffled Spring Ensemble

The two piece outfit is made of white eyelet over pink cotton lawn. The pink fabric peeks through the eyelet and then spills out in ruffles. The shirt is embellished with a ribbon rosette and closes in the back with shell buttons. The skirt has a yoke that is flat in the front and gathered with elastic at the waist in the back. The ruffles were hemmed with a 1/4 inch rolled hem foot. Two lines of basting stitches a quarter inch apart were used for gathering the ruffles. This method yields straight, even gathers when attaching them to the garment. Pink gingham bias tube trim tops the gathered part of the ruffles on both the top and skirt.

Oh little cute princess...She looks so happy and quite cute model. I like the detail you put on: flower, the trim on ruffles. You did a great work.
You made me jeoulous dear. I wanted to do like you did for your daughter but I did not have one. My boy is so big now (will be 14 in July) He just said to me last week "Mom stop making me to be ... like ...your daughter"

cloudyhn, I didn't get a daughter until child number 5. She is now 12. I didn't get the second daughter until child number 7! She is the daughter pictured. I had her when I was 43! I do love sewing for her. My older daughter sews for herself now. She may post something if she gets it finished in time!
