I fell in love with the circular vest in the January 2010 Threads (issue #146). This is my version using a woven fabric for both the vest and the binding. I modified the armholes from slits to circles and added a removable tie at the bustline which I found eliminated the annoying problem of “shoulder slipoff”. I made the tie removable through two tiny buttonholes so that the vest can also be worn open, or belted at the waist which is a really cute look as well. The skirt I’m wearing in the photo has ruffle coordinated to the binding on the vest. It’s hard to tell in my poor quality photography but the fabric used for the vest binding and skirt ruffle is printed with a miniature version of the dot print in the skirt. I am pleased with how it all turned out.
