My Wedding dress!

When trying on wedding dresses, I couldn't get myself to find a dress I really liked at a price that was reasonable.  So I decided to take ideas from many dresses and make it myself!  Used Vogue 2717 as the base with alterations.  My grandmother helped with the wrap and the corset back (I couldn't find any patterns with that style).  My mother did the beadwork and embellishments with appliques.  My dad even helped out a bit!  It took a long time, but it was well worth it and I loved it more than any premade dress... plus it's original!

Fabrics used: Satin base w/ organza overlay; china silk lining.  wrap: shantung

Pattern or design used: Vogue 2717

Creating the dress yourself gives it more sentimental value as it has precious memories attached that otherwise would not be there.

Congratulations on a beautiful gown and for your wedding. May your marriage be a long and happy one!
