Last month, BERNINA introduced the 3 Series, a line of entry-level, yet sophisticated sewing machines.

This month, the company's holding a sweepstakes that offers a sleek "3 Series" BMW or one of 20 $300 cash prizes. All you need to do is take one of the new machines for a "test drive."

About the sewing machines

BERNINA designed the 3 Series with value-minded beginning and intermediate sewers in mind.

Three models are available, the B330 (MSRP $1,299) , B350PE ($1,699)and B380 ($2,199). They differ in number of feet, stitches, alphabets, and accessories.

Some features all three machines have in common:

  • LED display and work-area lights.
  • Quick functions: A start/stop button, speed control, semi-automatic threader, one-step buttonhole maker, and fast stitch selection.
  • Direct-selection buttons: A shortcut for functions, to keep sewing speedy and user-friendly.

You can see and study the BERNINA 3 Series details online. There are video tutorials, model specifications, and a dealer locator. Wait, free patterns, too!

About the sweepstakes

Sewers who test-drive a BERNINA 3 Series machine at a dealership between August 9 and 23 will be entered in a sweepstakes to win a 3 Series BMW or one of 20 cash prizes. For complete details and contest rules, visit the Test Drive and Win page at BERNINAUSA.com.

The BMW 3 Series is BMW's top-selling model in the United States. Isn't it fitting that it parallels BERNINA's new machines with a reputation as an "entry-level" luxury car.

You can call all of these 3 Series machines entry-level, but I'd be happy to drive any of them! So check out the sweepstakes.

I did test drive these new 330 models at the Bernina dealer near my home. They are very nice. But, I fell in love with the 830 model. Now that is a beautiful machine. I can only imagine the creativity that is possible from the 830!!! Still, for the beginning sewer, the 330 models are exceptional.
