Sally and Jack Halloween Costumes 2009

I've been making Halloween costumes for my kids since they were toddlers. It's always fun with my daughter. Sally and Jack is what she wanted for her and her hubby. I took a few  scraps of materials and put this dress together using a commercial pattern with several adjustments. I zig-zag the pieces togeter to give it the doll stitching look. I made her little socks out of lycra material. It was a simple tube style sock. The Jack costume was less complicated. I used mccalls pattern 6143. I cut the tail to look like the actual Jack outfit. My daughter drew the bat  and I made a pattern to make the bat tie.  The fabric is a stretch cotton lycra with silver stripes. The costumes were so much fun to make.
