Fabric
In a recent issue of Threads (#151) in the Q & A section a reader asked how to use quilting fabrics in garment construction. After reading this issue I remembered a shirt project in Issue #150: Gender Bender. This article suggested using embroidery to enhance areas of a basic button-up shirt. Since I don't have an embroidery machine I decided to try using quilting fabrics in the suggested areas instead. The areas where I chose to use the quilting fabrics were areas that normally would receive interfacing for stability. Because of the weight of the quilting fabrics I used a lighter interfacing and was very pleased with the results.
