Reader’s Closet

Inspired by the suit from the Western Costume Company which was featured on the back cover of Threads, November 2010 issue, I chose to make the jacket out of London wool crepe.  The sleeve lacing was made with georgette fabric, applied with a large whipstitch through the eyelets, before the sleeves were sewn onto the jacket body.  The caps of the sleeves were then hand sewn.  For added interest, the sleeve cuffs featured bound buttonholes,
