BirdieSews writes: I like to have my small notions like scissors, seam ripper, tweezers, point turner, sewing machine screw driver, thimble, frequently used feet, etc. near me when I sew/embroider and was frustrated whenever I needed one of these and had to either look around the top of my sewing table, dig in the basket by my machine or look in a drawer for them. A few years ago I purchased an artist's carousel from an office supply store, the kind that is pyramid-shaped and has 4 large slots on the bottom and various sized openings meant for brushes and 4 large openings on top. I placed it to the right of my machine and now I have places for pens, rulers, the small notions, whatever I need. For $15, what a time saver this has been; all I have to do is rotate the carousel to find what I want, AND no more clutter on top of my table!

I also want to share a warning about silicone thread products: My computerized machine technician told me NOT to use silicone products for my thread because it corrodes the thread disks in the machine. Need you ask how I know?! Birdie
