Upholstery Fabric Skirt

gold binding covering raw fabric edges by back zipper enclosure

So I have a mild obsession with upholstery fabric…

the color…

the patterns…

the weight and structure…

ah!

Well I finally got around to crafting a skirt with some upholstery fabric I bought some months back.

This fabric was perfect for a high-waisted, mini, a-line skirt! The stiffness of the fabric helps the skirt keep its wide shape to help exaggerate an hourglass shape on the wearer.

Inside detail note:

I have been really into adding contrasting binding to finish up the raw fabric edges by zipper enclosures. I had just bought some gold binding and decided it would be a cute to use with this fabric!

I wore this skirt out right after finishing it and got tons of compliments.

Upholstery fabric… success!!

It was gorgeous and I will ALWAYS look for clearance material on the other side of the store now !
