White Knit Skirt Pattern Replica

White knit skirt, pattern created by me using an old worn out skirt as an exact replica for the pattern (even constructed an attached lining/slip)
Happy with my new white knit skirt. Looked everywhere to buy one to replace the old worn out one with no success. Decided to use the advice I read in Threads magazine to use ready to wear garments as patterns...perfect idea when altering patterns to fit is difficult. Much better quality garment than the original. Pleased with the result.
Overcast decorative feather stitch used to finish the seams. First time using this technique as well as the first time sewing with a knit fabric. Not nearly as tricky as I thought it would be. Using the right stitch made it a breeze.
Instead of hemming the diagonal ties at the waist (which also would have added bulk and detract from the light airy feel of the skirt) I decided to duplicate the finish of the original garment by overcasting with a tiny stretch stitch on the cut edge. Pretty finish.
