Awards Dinner Dress
Last week I had to attend an awards dinner & decided it was the perfect excuse to make a new dress. The dress code was ‘black tie preferred’ which for guys is easy, (wear a tux if you have one, otherwise wear the darkest suit & tie you own), but for girls is a little trickier, so I decided that it was a perfect excuse to make a new dress!
I decided on a knee length dress but in a more extravagent fabric, in the hope that it would fit in with the dress code. I started with Vogue V8729 & instead of the full skirt I extended the bodice down into a pencil skirt. I still have plans to make the skirt of Vogue V8729 but to have it as a removeable skirt so that the dress is a little more versatile than just a full blown evening gown.
The lace is an embroidered & sequined tulle, underlined with silk organza & lined with rayon.

I love the shades of colour you used. Very subtle blend.
