Mmmmm..... Sherbet

I jar dyed (actualy I used coffee cans) this fabric and made the dress from one of my original designs. I love the effect I got with the dye!

I love to experiment so I don't remember where I got the dye recipe, it may have been Threads Magazine. First find a container your fabric can fit in but not too comfortably (I used coffee cans) Then you wet your fabric, not dripping, and sprinkle powdered dye in the bottom of the container. Lay a little of the fabric on top of the dye, twist the fabric and sprinkle more dye. You can use all one color or different colors. Keep sprinkling and twisting until you get to the end of the fabric. It should be stuffed in the container. Add some water, how much is up to you but it dilutes some of the dye. Let it sit for a couple of hours (patience), take it out and wash and dry as usual. If you try it, post a pic. I'd love to see it!
