First Communion Dress

This was the first time I have made a first communion dress. But my neice wanted a dress done her way. So I agreed. She choose an out of print Guinne Sax from my collection. We removed the 3 teir ruffle from the back for an updated look. Changed the neck from a crew neck to a small v neck. She choose her fabric a crisp white dull satin, her organza with a pearlized sheen. We went to Embroidery Online where she choose her embroidery design for the center of the organza overskirt. A cross with flowers at the base and two doves. The botton edge of the overskirt is in satin ribbon folded in half and sewen all the way around. The bodice has small pearls scattered since she really wanted pearls but no lace of any kind. Boy for an 8 year old she knew down to the detail what she wanted. I am in trouble w hen she hits her teens. But both her and her mother were very  happy with the dress. The veil is just a headband covered in fleece then covered in the same white satin with white pearls and flowers. The same organza was used for the veil portion.
