1947 Vogue dress

I sewed this in seersucker, as a sporty dress for summer. The seersucker gives it more body than the illustration suggests. Next time I'll try a drapier fabric.

I enjoy vintage patterns for dresses designed for everyday activities and not just for special occasions. This 1947 Vogue dress, illustrated with golf clubs, is sporty in a genteel way. Don’t know whether it’s actually suitable for golfing, but who cares?
