The Lilah Dress
A friend gave me several pieces of vintage lace from her late mother-in-law's sewing stash. I thought it would be fun to use a few pieces on something for my friends grand-daughter. I used New Look pattern 6884.
As I began to construct the dress, I decided that I would leave it sleeveless, and use the just lace as the collar instead of laying it on top of a cloth collar. For a little added detail, I used a wing needle, and an eylette flower stitch on my machine on the bodice (where the pattern suggested lace trim). It's been 30+ years since I've had the opportunity to make something for a little girl...and what fun it was!

I can't count the times someone has said, Oh, did you make that? I knew it was a failure instantly. It would occur to no one that your dress is hand made. I love the vintage look slso. Well done!
