Christening Gown for my Grandaughter
This is the "ulitmate" party dress, my grandaughters Christening gown; I made this gown from my wedding dress. The wedding dress was purchased in 1996 and made of off white duponi silk. The christening outfit was made from various patterns, one for the dress and slip (McCalls 4865), one for the shoes (Simplicity 2471), and one for the ruffle panties (not pictured). The headband I made on my own. The outfit includes: Dress, Slip, Panties, Shoes, and Headband. Each piece was made from various pieces of my wedding dress, except for the slip which was purchased muslin. It took about two weeks to make and assemble. The trim (lace) on the dress was also purchased, the top and bottom lace was attached and then hand beaded using glass beads. It started with a wedding dress and 15 years later a christening gown. A true labor of love. **note: The ruffle panties pattern was lost so I didn't have the info, also the picture for the panties were in a diff format and would not download.
Pattern or design used: McCalls 4865 and Simplicity 2471
