Ponyo, Ponyo, fishy of the sea
My 3 year old LOVES Ponyo and asked to be her for Halloween. I used a classic Western style girl's dress, but replaced the typical collar with a Mandarin collar. I made a pair of bloomers and added extra width for more poof. I of course had to make her a felt ham to carry around since Ponyo loves ham. The dress was red cotton from the local fabric store. The fabric for the bloomers were a simple white cotton that I picked up from SCRAP, our local recycling store. The ham was made from scrap felt I have had for years.
Super simple costume but she gets a lot of joy from it. Also I hemmed it so there is something like 8 extra inches of length. I think she'll wear the dress out before she grows out of it. ;)
Thanks for looking.
