How to Use Feathers As Embellishments

Threads magazine - 141 – Feb./Mar. 2009

Nature’s abundance-in its range of colors and textures-never ceases to amaze. This is especially true of bird feathers. Feather colors range from the soft shading of doves, sparrows, and swans to the flamboyant hues of parrots, peacocks, and flamingoes. Feathers adorn everything from shoes and purses to hats and jackets, making fashion statements-subdued and bold.

You can find feathers attached to boas or tape, or buy them individually. Susan Crane demonstrates how to apply feather embellishments to add a little extra glam to your wardrobe this winter.
