How to Sew Invisible Seams and Edges

Threads magazine - 61 – Feb./Mar. 1995

A garment’s seams and edges can be played up or down in its design. But when that garment is created by New York designer Zoran, its seams and edges are inevitably constructed to be as invisible as possible. Since the mid-1970s, Yugoslavian-born Zoran has designed incredibly simple, clean-lined garments from exquisite fabrics. His collections of timeless, elegant pieces, cut in only one easy-fitting size, scarcely change from one season to the next; old pieces are meant to be combined with new.

Zoran’s garments flatter a wide variety of figure types and ages and make the wearer feel the epitome of effortless, timeless taste and style. What makes these clothes so beautiful and wearable by so many women? In short, stunning fabrics, very simple shapes and construction, and a few minimal but inspired details, like his handling of seams and edges.

Here, Fred Bloebaum shows you how you can achieve the look and style of Zoran in your own sewing.

I'm seeing this download as a pdf and it seems to be working fine. I'm not sure why you might be having trouble, but if you continue to have a problem downloading this pattern, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Vicky
