Repeat and Reverse Embellishments

Kenneth King's clever technique for cord and bead embroidery began with a simple question.

"How can I do free embellishment that is mirrored accurately on both sides of a project?" For many years this was key to Kenneth's embellishment style. This technique comes in handy when decorating a vest or jacket lapel, for instance, with an improvised design on the first side, then the same design duplicated on the opposite side. If you have a hard time thinking or working in reverse, here is a process for simplifying the duplication. It is easily adaptable to different styles of work, and is a lot simpler to do than the finished results suggest.
