A Little Bit of Lace
Lace is the leading fabric for spring. This delicate and feminine material is everywhere from full lace garments to little lace accents such as trim, gussets, yokes, and collars. Burda's Spring/Summer pattern collection has a few great choices for incorporating this fabulous material into your wardrobe.
Pattern 7210, view C, is a three-quarter length, raglan-sleeve jacket. The zip-front opening and the drawstring waist give this all-over lace top a daywear look. Select a lace fabric with two scalloped edges to trim the garment and sleeve hems.
Pattern 7192 is an ensemble collection with a lace-top option. View C is a simple princess-seam blouse with cap sleeves. A side seam zipper allows for an inconspicuous closure. Choose a lace with two scalloped edges to trip the hem and the cap sleeves.
Pattern 7219, View B, features sweet lace accents on a simple silhouette. The semi-fitted sheath dress has bust darts and a center front seam with extra shaping given with a fabric tie-belt. Lace details shine with a neckline collar, cap sleeves, and side seam gussets at the hemline.
Pattern 7218, is a stylish blouse perfect for the artistic, young sewer. View A is a jersey knit top featuring a lace yoke. The bodice has pockets and a front button closure and the lace yoke edges are bound.
