My daugher, Kelly, only asked me to do one thing for her wedding but it was the big one: make her dress. Of course, this was not to follow a standard pattern either, as mine was in 1972 when I made my own wedding dress. She had a design in her mind that we could not find anywhere else so I made up a muslin and fit it on a home made dress form via Threads instructions. The base of the dress is a fluid satin with a crinkle texture overlay. The lattice work make of the satin fabric wraps around to the back and those bias tubes either end at the back seam with the zipper or end in graduated stops with a pearl cluster. It turned out to not only be a one-of-a-kind but much easier than I thought. The bride was pleased so that’s what mattered the most!

That is just gorgeous. What an amazing dress you have made for your daughter! She looks absolutely stunning :) Congratulations to you both.
Your daughter is beautiful and so is the dress! I have been playing with some red fabric tubes I made. I have them in a lattice style similar to yours except I covered the bust with them.
love the lattice work well done!
Thank you for all the kind comments. Sophronia, I would love to see a post of your red dress!
