Quilt your stash and win! It is time to do some serious spring cleaning and organize your fabric. The sky's the limit! To enter, simply share your quilted garment or accessory in our contest gallery before June 5, 2012, 11:59 pm EST. There is no limit to the number of projects you can enter, and as long as your project is handmade by you, it does not matter if this is a brand new project or one you have been working on for a while.

Please tell us a little about your project. Share a brief description including any patterns, fabrics, inspiration, or special techniques used in your project. This is not mandatory, but any information you share will help us appreciate the work that went into sewing your quilted project.

HeavenlyPrincess writes: Could you please clarify what is meant by "quilt"? Based on context (using up scraps) I assume you mean the entry should be pieced. must it also be quilted, meaning stitched through multiple layers?

sewold writes: I received the book ( plus a copy for my daughter in law). Now I need to work on the stash! Just completed a small quilt/wall hanging from some old blocks in my stash. I'm not sure where they came from but there were over 30. They appear to be 1930's feed sack fabrics. I even had some feed sacks to use for the backing. (still have some left, too) I looked in lots of books but never could identify the pattern. They were all hand sewn and done very well. I'd love to add the machine to my workroom, too.

copywriterMT writes: I just purchased/received the Quilt Your Stash book, which has been a delight to read on this very subject. Very useful info on how to store bits and bites, which of course means you'll actually be able to USE those bits and bites for something useful. I need to put a really long video on in my sewing room, and start cutting those useful squares... I think my first project from my stash will be table runners using fall/christmas fabrics. I have a lot of them from various projects, so think it will be easy to come up with enough for a project.

55puget writes: Stashes stashes and more stashes...like dust bunnies if you leave them in the closet they multiple and invade the spare drawers in storage areas, closets etc. Now I wonder why I drove into Seattle with a friend and we came back with SIX large bolts of plain fabric...was it to go with the odd things in the closets... some new some old and some even blue. I love my Threads Magazine and enjoy the ideas in it.
