I made this laptop bag from scrap fabric that was given to me. The white sections of the fabric are quilted in a small stippling pattern, giving the bag great texture and dimension. I have used it as a combination laptop bag/purse for airline travel, and it worked great! The size of the bag is customized to fit my laptop, and has pockets inside with elastic openings for pens/pencils, cell phone, power cord, mouse, etc. There is enough room to easily carry a book or magazines along with the laptop. I also made a matching small zippered bag for cosmetics.
