How to Construct a Lace-Up Purse

Nothing complements a beautiful garment like a chic purse, and when you see how easily you can make one, you’ll whip one up for every special occasion. It’s easy to change the size and shape by simply starting with a different sized rectangle. It’s also fun to experiment with different fabrics and cordings for the lace-up sides. We chose patent leather for a slick, high-shine look with no sewing required. But, with some adjustments, this style can easily translate to fabric. (With fabric, you’ll need fusible interfacing, batting, a lining, and, of course, you’ll stitch it instead of using glue.) Once you try making one of these bags, you’ll be hooked!
