Burda jacket and dress for my sister’s wedding

Burda 3974 jacket with modifications to create my classic French style jacket

This was the dress and jacket I made for my sisters wedding last month.  I have wanted to make a classic French inspired jacket for ages and this was the opportunity for me to do it.  I used Burda 3974 for my basic jacket pattern and then adjusted it to create the look I wanted.  I also used Burda Style for the dress.  Both fabrics came from Linton Tweed and as they make the fabric for Chanel it was good enough for me to live the dream lol.  There is more about how I made my jacket my blog.

Pauline, both pieces are absolutely beautiful. You outdid yourself.
The dress is so unique. What issue of Burda Style was it in?

Beautiful ensemble! The fabrics must have been luscious to work with.
