hand painted silk mini sarongs/scarves
I consider myself a textile artist. I love to use fabrics as my canvas - mostly silks, cotton voile and silk rayon. Currently where I am from (St Lucia, Windward Islands - small isle in the Caribbean), good quality fabrics are practically non-existent. I have to rely on friends traveling to the USA or Europe for good fabrics, but I persevere!! I also design and sew beach/resort wear (just starting!!), and so far the responses have been good, not great, but good. All my hand painting is one of a kind (I find it hard to duplicate). I also sew my own designs; I try to keep them simple, e.g. scarves/pareos, shorts, mini caftans (square and round), loose tops, skirts. I would like feedback from readers, please.
