I needed a top for the holidays and couldn’t resist this lovely leopard print fabric. It was the perfect weight, just right for the fall/winter season, not too light or too heavy. I used Butterick pattern #4659 primarily for the elegant collar treatment and open cuff sleeves. As is the case with much of what I make for myself these days, I made several changes to the pattern. The most significant of which included, converting the princess lines that commenced at the armholes to ones starting at the shoulder instead for a much better fit and converting the shirtail hemline to a straight hemline for a more elegant finish. Since the material frayed terribly, I bound all of the seams to give a nice, clean finish inside the blouse. I love the semi-dressy yet casual styling of the blouse and wear it often.
