Iron Carrier

Opened up as an ironing surface

Just finished this today.  It’s an iron carrier (this is not my pattern – TC Designs – I purchased it from Nancy’s Notions).  I wanted to make one – I taught a sewing class at church over the summer and continue to run a sewing group twice a month and I seem to be constantly carrying home a hot iron.  The beauty of this is that it is also an ironing surface.  I discovered that the folded corners make a nice “pocket” to hold the cord.  This carrier was easy enough to create but I would not recommend it for beginners – the directions are not the most intuitive.

Thanks for sharing this great idea and how you've used it... there have been times I've needed a temporary ironing surface and then had a hot iron to take home.

That looks like a brilliant idea! I too teach and find myself carrying a hot iron, could you tell me what you used on the inside? is it heat resistant? Thanks
