My local Bernina dealer, Daley by the Yard, has been making some of the patterns from the book and displaying the finished garments in her sewing shop and classroom. I would use the book to make some of the patterns for myself.

  19. sewmydreams | | #19

I have a friend who has purchased a few of the Colette patterns and she says they are easy to make up and she loves wearing the designs. I would like to get the opportunity to try some of these patterns myself....and of course share them with my friend Carol...I know she would be excited, too!

I have started making clothes for my grandchildren and for my daughters. I Just got a new sewing machine from my sister for an early birthday gift. I am to make her a couple of outfits and for her grandchildren. Also have been teaching my friends and nieces how to sew basic items. I am between a beginner and an intermediate level on sewing. I know that there is so much to learn to be a good seamstress and teacher. So yes I would love to win this book.

I took this book out of the library and am thoroughly enjoying both the way it is written and the illustrations. I have not used the patterns yet as I know I'll never be able to fold them and get them back into the envelope at the rear of the book. I need my own copy, therefor I am entering this contest. I hope I win!

My Mom was a Seamstress all my years growing up. In my very young years, I had somewhat of an interest in sewing, but never followed through with it. As I grew into my teenage years, I was completely interested in wearing the different styles of clothing rather than the construction of them. During my late teens/early 20s, my Dad urged my Mom to teach my sister and I how to sew, but we pretty much had no interest. Then came my upper 20s when I began to regret studying English instead of Fashion Design. I still carry that regret to this day, now in my 30s. I'm learning to sew, appreciative that I still can, but terribly disappointed that I didn't take the opportunity that was given to me ever since I was a little girl.
