Vinyl Bags

These three bags are my latest attempts at working with vinyl. It is challenging, frustrating and fun. Do get a teflon foot and also a good adhesive (glue, tape, whatever for making straps since you can’t press the vinyl before you stitch it.I have yet to find a good glue. I have used Dritz Wonder Tape (a double sided tape but it gets pricey if you are making a lot of straps. I have used a light steam pressing on vinyl using a presscloth and sometimes it works. If you make a mistake in stitching don’t even think about ripping it out and restitching – you will have holes in your vinyl. I have done it and sometimes it works but I don’t recommend it . I use either a microtex or leather needle depending on the vinyl that you are using. Test it on a  scrap.

Those are great! Beautiful work, and I love the designs & colors. May I suggest using blue painters tape when it's feasible use tape to temporarily secure on the outside. It will come right off when you're done sewing, and it doesn't leave a sticky residue.
